point multipliers for accurate, obscure trivia you did NOT have to go to imdb for
kevin AND john AND mike
1. Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
The opening sequence shows two cybernetic bodies angled so as to show two pairs of legs joined at the hip. This is a reference to the doll sculptures created by the German surrealist Hans Bellmer in the 1930's, and at one point in the film a book by Bellmer can be seen.
2. Star Trek: First Contact
The deflector dish is labeled AE35, the name of a component of a satellite dish in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
3. A Scanner Darkly
Robert Downey Jr. wrote most of his lines down on post-it notes and scattered them around the set so he could read off them while filming a scene. The rotoscoping team simply animated over the notes to remove them from the film during post-production.
4. Léon (The Professional)
During the filming involving all of the police cars on the street, a man ran from a store he had just robbed. When he encountered the movie set by accident, he saw all of the "police" and gave himself up to a bunch of uniformed extras. (wish the gary oldman trivia was better!)
5. Batman Begins
During the interviews he performed to promote the movie, Christian Bale continued using the American accent he'd adopted to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. He explained that he didn't want potential moviegoers to be confused about why Batman, an American institution, was being played by a Welshman. (still no oldman trivia!)
6. The Fifth Element
The flying traffic created by the visual effects team at Digital Domain allowed artists to create personalized license plates. Though never visible in the film, the state slogan printed on all license plates reads, "New York, The Fuck-You State." (lawl, but no oldman??)
7. Immortal Beloved
While the actual performances of Beethoven's piano pieces in this film were not played by Gary Oldman, the actor practiced five hours a day so that his movements would be in time with the performances of Murray Perahia, which were done off-camera. (FINALLY!)
8. Twelve Monkeys
Bruce Willis took a lower salary than his star-status would normally entitle, partly because of budget restrictions, but mostly because he wanted to work with Terry Gilliam. Actually Bruce did the movie for free. It was only after the movie was released that he was paid. (mega <3)
9. The Fountain
Of the 70 extras cast as Mayan Warriors, 20 were actually real Mayans flown in from Guatemala. Actor Fernando Hernandez ,who played the Lord of Xibalba, was the only one who could speak English. Before shooting at the Mayan pyramid, the Mayan actors blessed the set. (also weisz and jackman agreed to work for reduced salary, <3 <3 again)
10. Dumb and Dumber
In the bar scene in Aspen, the line "No way... that's crazy. We've Landed on the moon!" was not in the script but made up by Jim Carrey on the spot during shooting. (same with the most annoying sound in the world)
unfortunately, this movie was not listed...
I GET ANOTHER HEATHER TODAY!! so excited.
